Jayapura — Efforts to build Papua’s future continue through simple yet meaningful initiatives. Personnel of the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation once again demonstrated their commitment to children’s education by organizing learning and play activities with participants of the Koya Tengah Village Reading Park, Muara Tami District, Jayapura City, on Tuesday afternoon (February 3, 2026).
The educational activity, held in the courtyard of GKI Gloria Church in Koya Tengah Village, was led by Second Inspector (Ipda) Andi Mappanyompa along with a unit of personnel from the Public Relations Task Force of the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation. The presence of police personnel aimed to support children’s learning processes while fostering a love for reading and numeracy, as well as building self-confidence as a foundation for a better future.
Prior to the activity, members of the Public Relations Task Force conducted a readiness roll call at the Jayapura Command Post at 4:00 p.m. WIT to ensure personnel and equipment preparedness. Upon arriving at the location at 4:30 p.m. WIT, the personnel immediately engaged warmly with the children of the Koya Tengah Reading Park.
In a friendly and cheerful atmosphere, the children were invited to learn reading and arithmetic through fun and interactive methods. Educational games were incorporated to train concentration, teamwork, and to spark interest in learning. Personnel of the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation also motivated the children to dare to dream, believe in their own abilities, and continue their education in pursuit of a brighter future.
The activity received a positive response from the local community. One resident of Koya Tengah Village, Maria Yoku, expressed her appreciation for the presence of the police personnel and the positive impact on the children’s development.
“The children are more enthusiastic about learning and more confident. They feel cared for and supported. We are very grateful because activities like this help nurture hope for our children’s future,” she said.
The Head of the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that education is the main foundation in creating a safe and peaceful Papua.
“Building sustainable security must begin with developing the quality of human resources. Children are an investment in Papua’s future. When they receive guidance, education, and motivation from an early age, we are preparing a generation capable of bringing positive change to their region,” said Brig. Gen. Pol. Faizal Ramadhani.
Echoing this view, the Deputy Head of the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., stressed that an educational approach is an essential part of every operational duty.
“The 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation does not focus solely on security aspects, but also on nurturing the younger generation. Through learning activities with children, we aim to instill positive values, a passion for learning, and self-confidence as provisions for their future,” said Sr. Comr. Pol. Adarma Sinaga.
He added that the involvement of police personnel in educational and social activities is a long-term strategy to strengthen relations between the police and the community, thereby creating a conducive and sustainable public security environment.
Through this activity, the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation reaffirmed that building a peaceful Papua also means safeguarding and nurturing the future of its younger generation—beginning in modest learning spaces and through sincere care for children.
