Jayapura – The success of Bripda Karel Dadimo, a child from the Asmat tribe who won the title in a letter-writing competition for the National Police Chief on the occasion of the 76th Bhayangkara Day in 2022, is now an inspiring true story. His dream of becoming part of the Indonesian Police has been realized.

Attending an award ceremony at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters, Bripda Karel Dadimo, who is still in class XI IPS 1 at Yan Smith Catholic High School, Agats, Asmat Regency, Papua, met directly with the National Police Chief General Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Si. In his letter, Karel expressed his desire to be part of the Indonesian National Police.

In his letter, Karel showed his desire to devote himself as a member of the National Police in his home area, Asmat Regency. And on Thursday 21 December 2023, the promise of the National Police Chief was realized. Karel Dadimu was officially inaugurated as a member of the National Police with the rank of Police Brigadier Two.

This big step is not only a personal achievement for Karel, but also a symbol of the Kapolri’s commitment to providing opportunities for regional children to work and serve the country.

The moment of the inauguration was also an expression of gratitude from Bripda Karel.

“I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Chief of Police, the National Police HR, the Papua Police Chief, the Deputy Chief of Police, the Head of the SPN, and the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police for helping me realize my dream. I am now a member of the National Police thanks to their help,” he said in an interview after the inauguration.

Promising to be a good police officer, Karel emphasized his commitment to carry out his duties with dedication.

“I will take my duty seriously and try to be useful to the whole community, especially in my own area, Asmat Regency,” he said enthusiastically.

Bripda Karel Dadimo’s success story inspires us that determination, passion, and persistence can make dreams come true, while also showing the importance of providing opportunities for the younger generation to work and contribute to the nation and state.
