NABIRE, Central Papua — Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 Sector Nabire conducted a patrol and humanist engagement with local communities in the Samabuasa River area, Nabire Regency, Central Papua, on Tuesday (25/8/2026). The activity was carried out as part of efforts to maintain public security and order while strengthening communication and trust between security personnel and the local community.
The activity was led by Sector Commander IPTU Ari Wiyono. Personnel conducted patrols around the Samabuasa River area while directly monitoring community activities. The observation was aimed at assessing the situation on the ground and ensuring that security conditions remained safe and conducive.
In addition to conducting patrols, personnel engaged in direct communication with local residents. In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the personnel greeted residents, discussed local conditions, purchased agricultural produce, and listened to information and feedback regarding the security and public order situation around the Samabuasa River.
One of the residents met by the personnel, Mama Deki, expressed her appreciation for the presence of security personnel who directly visited and communicated with the community. She said that such a humanist approach helped residents feel closer to security personnel while providing a greater sense of safety in carrying out their daily activities.
“We are happy because the officers came and spoke directly with the community. We can share information about conditions in our area and remind one another to maintain security together. Their presence makes us feel cared for,” said Mama Deki.
During the activity, Task Force personnel also delivered a humanist appeal to residents to work together in maintaining security, public order, and peace in their respective communities. Residents were encouraged to remain attentive to their surroundings and immediately report any potential security disturbances to the authorities.
Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., said that field observation and a humanist approach are important components of efforts to maintain security across Papua.
“Security is not solely the responsibility of security personnel, but also requires the active participation of the community. Through direct observation and communication, personnel can understand conditions on the ground while building trust with residents. We hope this good relationship will continue to be maintained in order to create a safe and conducive environment,” said the Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026.
He emphasized that the presence of personnel among the community is not only intended to monitor the area, but also to ensure that residents can carry out their daily activities safely and comfortably. An approach that prioritizes communication and humanist interaction is expected to further strengthen cooperation between security personnel and the community.
Meanwhile, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, emphasized that area observation and humanist activities would continue on a regular basis as part of efforts to establish a security environment involving all elements of society.
“We encourage personnel in the field not only to monitor the situation, but also to establish good communication with the community. Information from residents is very important in maintaining security. Through open communication and strong relationships, potential security disturbances can be identified and addressed at an early stage,” said the Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026.
The Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026 also encouraged residents to work together to maintain peace and not be easily influenced by information that could create unrest within the community. He said that security and peace in Papua could be achieved when security personnel and residents continued to build cooperation and look after one another.
Throughout the activity, the situation in the Samabuasa River area remained safe, orderly, and conducive.
