Puncak Jaya – Efforts to maintain security and strengthen relationships with local communities continue to be carried out by personnel from the Kulirik Post assigned to the Damai Cartenz Operation 2026 through a foot patrol conducted in Muara District, Puncak Jaya Regency, on Monday (June 1, 2026).
The patrol began with a personnel readiness check at Kulirik Post before officers moved to several locations designated as security monitoring areas. The activity was conducted as a preventive measure to ensure the security situation remained under control and to anticipate potential disturbances that could disrupt community activities.
During the patrol, personnel monitored the overall condition of the area, observed developments on the ground, and ensured that the surrounding environment remained safe and conducive. In addition to enhancing vigilance, the patrol also served as a means of reinforcing the state’s presence within the community.
Not only focusing on security aspects, Damai Cartenz personnel also prioritized a humanitarian approach by greeting and engaging directly with residents encountered along the patrol route. During these interactions, personnel listened to information and concerns from community members while encouraging them to work together in maintaining security and public order.
The presence of security personnel actively interacting with residents received a positive response from the community. This approach was considered effective in fostering a sense of comfort, increasing public trust, and strengthening cooperation in maintaining security stability throughout Puncak Jaya.
The Head of Damai Cartenz Operation 2026, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that patrols conducted by personnel in operational areas are aimed not only at maintaining security but also at strengthening relationships between law enforcement officers and the community.
“Routine patrols are part of our preventive efforts to ensure that the security situation remains under control. At the same time, the presence of our personnel among the community reflects our commitment to building positive communication and providing a sense of safety for all residents,” said the Head of Operations.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of Damai Cartenz Operation 2026, Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., stated that foot patrols are highly effective in monitoring local conditions while allowing personnel to engage directly with community members.
“Through foot patrols, personnel are able to gain a closer understanding of local conditions, detect potential security concerns at an early stage, and build harmonious relationships with residents. This approach is one of the key elements in maintaining sustainable security stability,” he said.
Damai Cartenz Operation 2026 will continue to prioritize preventive, dialogical, and humanitarian measures as part of its efforts to create a safe, peaceful, and conducive security environment throughout Papua, particularly in Puncak Jaya Regency.
