Yahukimo – The Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation Task Force succeeded in arresting a member of an armed criminal group (KKB) named Philip Kobak alias Nenak Kobak, who is known to serve as the Commander of the Kimbusa Kodap XVI Yahukimo Company. The arrest was carried out by the Gakkum Task Force team on Saturday, March 7, 2026 around 16.44 WIT in the GIDI Kali Brasa Church area, Dekai, Yahukimo Regency, after the officers monitored, chased, and carried out the location.
The arrest started from the target scanning process by the Gakkum Task Force team at 15.30 WIT. Around 16.15 WIT, the target was detected at the intersection of Jhon Banua Street, Dekai. The team then pursued the Kali Brasa Church area. When he found out the whereabouts of the officers, the suspect had left the vehicle and fled towards the forest. After being carried out by a team around the location, the suspect was finally secured at 16.44 WIT.
After the arrest, on Sunday, March 8, 2026, the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force team continued the investigation by conducting a search of the suspect’s house and several houses that were suspected to be a stopover for armed criminal groups in the Yahukimo area.
Based on the results of the interim investigation, Philip Kobak alias Nenak Kobak is known to be the Commander of the Kimbusa Kodap XVI Yahukimo Company Operations. In the structure of the group, he is suspected of having a role in the group’s operational activities and being involved in a number of violent acts in the Yahukimo region.
The suspect is also suspected of being involved in several acts of violence, including the robbery of Muhammad Syarif on January 11, 2026 and the arson of SMK Negeri 2 Dekai on February 14, 2026. The involvement of the suspect in a number of other incidents is still being investigated by the Gakkum Task Force investigators.
During the arrest, the officers also secured a number of items from the suspect’s hands, including cash around Rp 1,135,000, one pink ITEL brand cellphone unit, one black bag with Summit Series written on it, one green noken, one flashlight, and one cellphone charger.
Meanwhile, from the results of the search at the suspect’s house located on Jalan Gunung, Kampung Tomon 2, Dekai, the team found a number of evidences, including 4 pieces of 5.56 mm caliber ammunition, 2 pieces of 9 mm caliber ammunition, pointed iron, bags and noken, personal documents belonging to the suspect, bows and 31 arrows, 4 machetes, 3 axes, 1 sangkur, 2 kitchen knives, 1 projectile of 5,56 mm caliber, and 45 sleeves of ammunition caliber 7,62 mm and 5.56 mm.
Head of Public Relations Operation Peace Cartenz 2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., when confirmed by the media crew, Monday (9/3) explained that the arrest was the result of intelligence work and law enforcement operations carried out in a measurable manner by the team in the field.
“The arrest of Philip Kobak alias Nenak Kobak is part of the development of the Gakkum Task Force’s investigation into a network of armed criminal groups in the Yahukimo area. The person concerned is known to have the role of the Commander of the Kimbusa Kodap XVI Yahukimo Company and is suspected of being involved in a number of violent acts. Currently the suspect has been arrested and the investigation process is still ongoing to investigate the involvement of the person concerned in various other incidents,” said Chief Comissioner of Police Yusuf to reporters.
Meanwhile, Head of Peace Operations Cartenz 2026, Brigadier General Pol. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that the steps taken by the officers are part of the law enforcement efforts that are carried out professionally.

As for the appeal from Deputy Head of Operation Peace Cartenz 2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., appealed to the public to remain calm and not easily influenced by information whose truth is not yet clear.
“We urge the public to remain calm and not easily affected by information whose source is not clear. The apparatus will continue to work professionally in maintaining security and cracking down on every violation of the law,” said Kombes Adarma.
