Jayapura – Chairman of the Papua Youth Presidium of the Tabi Region, Fran Reynould Thejo, appealed to the entire community, especially in Jayapura, to jointly maintain the security and public order situation (kamtibmas) ahead of the celebration of the entry of the Gospel in Papua which is celebrated every February 5.
“The role of youth and society is very important in maintaining security stability so that every series of religious and social activities can run safely, peacefully, and orderly,” he said in a press release received by ANTARA in Jayapura, Wednesday.
He hopes that the situation of kamtibmas in all regions of Papua, especially Jayapura City, will always be in a safe and conducive condition.
“Security is a shared responsibility that requires the active involvement of all levels of society,” he said.
Fran also expressed his concern about a number of violent incidents that occurred in several areas of Papua, which caused the civil society to become victims.
“We hope that similar incidents will not be repeated in the future,” he said.
In addition, he invited the public to support the duties of the police who have been maintaining security and order in Papua. According to him, community support is very important so that the security forces can carry out their duties to the maximum in creating a sense of security.
“Let’s support the police who have been working to maintain security. Security is not only the duty of the apparatus, but also our shared responsibility as Papuan people,” he said.
He added, if the situation remains safe and conducive, then community activities and development implementation can run smoothly.
