Jayapura — The Indonesian National Police (Polri) continues to expand the development of Satuan Pendidikan Pelayanan Gedung (SPPG) as part of efforts to improve public services and accelerate police service delivery across Indonesia. On Tuesday (9/12), Polri officially conducted the groundbreaking for six new SPPG facilities in Papua.

The six SPPG locations entering the groundbreaking stage include:

SPPG Keerom Police Resort — 1,500 beneficiaries

SPPG Biak Numfor Police Resort — 1,000 beneficiaries

SPPG Merauke Police Resort, Semangga District — 1,500 beneficiaries

SPPG Merauke Police Resort, Kurik District — 1,500 beneficiaries

SPPG Merauke Police Resort, Ulilin District — 1,500 beneficiaries

SPPG Merauke Police Resort, Johar Street, Kelapa Lima, South Papua — 3,230 beneficiaries

Previously, two SPPG units in Papua were already operational and providing optimal services to the public:

SPPG Papua Regional Police — 1,880 beneficiaries

SPPG Jayapura City Police Resort — 2,783 beneficiaries

Nationally, Polri has targeted the construction of 1,500 SPPG units, with 1,099 units already realized across multiple stages, including operational, pre-operational, construction, and groundbreaking.

In addition, seven more SPPG units in Papua’s 3T regions (frontier, remote, and outermost areas) are currently under construction as part of efforts to expand police service coverage in regions with limited access.

Deputy Chief of Police Commissioner General Prof. Dr. Dedi Prasetyo emphasized that SPPG development in Papua is a strategic step toward equalizing police services, especially in geographically challenging areas.

“SPPG is not just a building. It is a major investment to accelerate police services in Papua. The faster we build, the faster the people benefit,” said the Deputy Chief.

During the visit, he also invited the Head of the MBG Task Force, Inspector General Nurworo Danang, to directly inspect and ensure that the progress of SPPG construction in Papua continues smoothly and according to target, particularly in 3T regions prioritized for service acceleration.

“I have asked MBG Task Force Head Inspector General Nurworo Danang to directly ensure the SPPG construction in Papua runs smoothly. The 3T regions must be prioritized so that people in remote areas can receive the same police services as those in other regions,” he stressed.

The Deputy Chief reaffirmed Polri’s commitment to strengthening services in eastern Indonesia through the addition of more SPPG facilities and digital service innovations.

“Papua is a priority. With these new SPPG units and ongoing projects, we want the people to receive modern, proper, and easily accessible police services,” he stated.

This groundbreaking also serves as a concrete demonstration of Polri’s commitment to supporting digital service transformation and ensuring the state’s presence is increasingly felt in even the most remote parts of Papua.
