Two Gold Miners Murdered in Yahukimo, Peace Cartenz Task Force Ensures Safe Evacuation and Investigation

Yahukimo, Highland Papua – The Peace Cartenz Task Force 2025 has successfully evacuated two gold panners who were found murdered in the remote area of Binki Village, Seradala District, Yahukimo Regency, on Friday, September 26, 2025. The victims, identified as Desen Dominggus and Marselinus Manek, have been transported to Dekai Regional General Hospital for medical examination and further handling.
The Head of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, expressed deep condolences for the incident and affirmed the authorities’ firm stance in pursuing justice.
“This tragedy underscores our resolve to act decisively. We will not remain silent. The perpetrators will be brought to justice,” stated Brigjen Pol. Faizal.
Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, Deputy Head of the Operation, emphasized that combined TNI-Polri forces are ramping up security across Yahukimo to prevent further acts of violence.
“Our goal is to ensure that communities feel safe and protected. The presence of our personnel on the ground aims to restore and maintain public peace and stability,” he said.
The Task Force urges all residents in Yahukimo and nearby regions to stay alert and immediately report any suspicious activities to the nearest security personnel.
