Papuan Youth and Traditional Leaders Affirm Commitment to Defend NKRI and Support Development

Papua — Papuan youth and traditional leaders have issued a joint statement reaffirming their commitment to safeguard the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and to support central government development programs in Papua.

Chairman of the Central Executive Board of Pemuda Laskar Merah Putih Bersatu Republik Indonesia, Rudi Samori, stated that this stance was born out of a collective awareness to strengthen unity and preserve social harmony in Papua.

In their declaration, the youth and traditional leaders emphasized that Papua is an integral and inseparable part of Indonesia. They also voiced their support for development initiatives across key sectors, including education, health, infrastructure, economy, indigenous community empowerment, and environmental protection.

They further pledged to stand at the forefront in maintaining social, political, and security stability in Papua—an effort deemed crucial for creating peace, prosperity, and a better future for the next generation.

Additionally, the leaders highlighted the importance of upholding local wisdom, traditions, and cultural values as essential pillars in building a dignified Papuan identity.

They also expressed readiness to work in synergy with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the National Police (Polri), and the government to ensure public security and order, with the ultimate goal of realizing a peaceful, safe, and prosperous Papua.
