Mimika, Central Papua – The Public Relations Task Force of Operation Damai Cartenz, Timika Post, organized a humanitarian activity with children in Tapamuya Village, Iwaka District, Mimika Regency, to mark the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence on Sunday (August 17, 2025).

The event, led by Police Inspector Iptu I Gde Pradana Sthirabudhi, S.Ds., and supported by officers Bripda Irgi Alamsyah and Bripda Alfesa Hafiz, began at 3:00 p.m. local time. Children were invited to interact in a warm and friendly atmosphere while receiving bottled milk, candy, and Indonesian red-and-white flags.

Head of Operation Damai Cartenz, Police Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head of Operation, Police Commissioner Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that the activity reflects the presence of security forces as part of the community.

“We want to show that law enforcement officers are not only here to enforce the law, but also to be friends and companions of the people, especially children. The meaning of Indonesia’s independence must be introduced early, as it is the foundation for the nation’s future,” Brig. Gen. Faizal stated.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations Task Force, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., highlighted the long-term social impact of such activities. “Moments like these are an investment in building character among the younger generation. With a friendly and compassionate approach, we want Papuan children to grow with confidence, love for the homeland, and the spirit to contribute to Indonesia’s development,” he said.

The event was warmly welcomed by Tapamuya residents, with children joyfully waving the national flag as a symbol of patriotism. Through such humanitarian programs, Operation Damai Cartenz continues to strengthen emotional bonds with Papuan communities as part of its peaceful and inclusive strategy in the region.
