Jayapura, June 1, 2025 — A police officer injured in an attack by an Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, is now in stable condition and has been referred to Bhayangkara Level I Hospital, Kramat Jati, Jakarta, on Sunday, June 1, 2025.

The Head of Peace Operation Cartenz-2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz-2025, Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that the officer, who was initially treated at Bhayangkara Hospital Kotaraja in Jayapura, was transferred to Jakarta for advanced medical care.

Meanwhile, the Head of Bhayangkara Level II Hospital in Jayapura, Senior Superintendent Dr. Rommy Sebastian, said the victim had received initial treatment according to standard operating procedures (SOP) at Bhayangkara Hospital Papua Regional Police.

“The patient is currently in stable condition and has been referred to Jakarta for further care by specialist doctors on Sunday, June 1, 2025,” said Dr. Rommy in his statement.

He added that the recovery process depends on the outcome of the surgery and subsequent medical treatment to be conducted at Bhayangkara Hospital Kramat Jati. The patient was accompanied by a medical team from Bhayangkara Hospital Kotaraja, Jayapura, during the transfer.

“We kindly ask for prayers for the patient’s full recovery and return to good health,” Dr. Rommy concluded.

Separately, the Head of the Public Relations Task Force for Peace Operation Cartenz-2025, Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged the public to remain calm and join in prayers for the recovery of the injured officer.

He also assured that the situation in Jayawijaya Regency, particularly Wamena, is now under control. Public activities have returned to normal, while police personnel remain on standby to ensure public safety and maintain peace.

“The situation in Jayawijaya Regency, especially Wamena, has returned to normal. The public is going about their daily activities as usual. Police personnel remain vigilant to ensure a safe and peaceful environment,” concluded Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo.
