Puncak Jaya, Indonesia – May 3, 2025 — Warm smiles and heartfelt expressions of gratitude lit up Kulirik Village in Muara District, Puncak Jaya Regency, as personnel from the Public Relations Unit of the Peace Operation Cartenz 2025 Task Force (Ops Damai Cartenz 2025) delivered humanitarian aid to local residents on Friday (May 2).
The aid distribution—consisting of food staples such as rice, cooking oil, instant noodles, sugar, and snacks—offered a glimmer of hope for communities in this remote highland region of Papua, an area long affected by limited access and ongoing tension.
The initiative demonstrated how a human-centered approach can pave the way for deeper, more meaningful peace. Residents, including the elderly and children, welcomed the task force with open arms, voicing appreciation for the unexpected gesture.
“We’re happy and feel seen. Thank you for the support,” said one local mother, carrying a bag filled with basic food supplies.
Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, Head of Public Relations for Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, emphasized the importance of continuing such initiatives to build lasting relationships with local communities.
“These humanitarian efforts are more than just aid distribution,” said Sutejo. “They’re about creating a safe, trusting atmosphere and building mutual understanding. We are committed to extending these activities to other regions as part of our long-term peace strategy.”
The event concluded with a joint prayer and a reminder from security personnel encouraging residents to maintain peace and unity within their community. While the aid packages may seem modest, the spirit of togetherness and shared hope they inspired sent a powerful message—that genuine peace can grow from small, sincere acts of compassion.
