Puncak Jaya, Papua — The commitment of security forces to fostering peace in Papua is reflected not only through armed operations but also through humanitarian-centered initiatives. This was emphasized by the Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025 (Kaops), Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., during a community engagement activity conducted by Task Force personnel in Puncak Jaya on Friday (April 25).
During the activity, two Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz officers, Baraka Iqbal Nuriman and Baratu Ali Mustofa Sapumajat, interacted warmly with children in the local community. By playing and engaging in friendly conversations, they created a familial and welcoming atmosphere in an area that has long been associated with security challenges.
For Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, the presence of security personnel is not solely about maintaining stability but also about building strong social relationships with the community as a crucial part of a long-term peace solution for Papua. He emphasized that a humanitarian approach remains a top priority in every operational activity.
“We continue to emphasize a humanistic approach in every field operation. Children are the future of Papua, and it is crucial for us to be present, build closeness, and provide a sense of security for them,” he said, accompanied by the Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum.
This statement reflects the broader philosophy of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, which prioritizes not only security measures but also the building of public trust. Such an approach is seen as vital to fostering open dialogue and reducing tensions within the operational areas.
