Yahukimo-Dekai — A joint team from the Cartenz Peace Operation 2025 and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has successfully evacuated the bodies of two murder victims allegedly killed by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in the gold mining area, specifically at Location 22 and Muara Kum, along the Silet River in Yahukimo Regency, Highland Papua.
The two bodies have now arrived at Dekai Regional Hospital (RSUD Dekai), Yahukimo Regency, for identification and further investigation.
The Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation 2025, Police Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that the evacuation process was carried out with great caution due to difficult terrain and unfavorable weather conditions.
“The evacuation of the two KKB victims’ bodies was successfully conducted today and has arrived at RSUD Dekai. Moving forward, we will carry out a thorough investigation and identification process to confirm the victims’ identities and uncover facts surrounding the incident,” said Brig. Gen. Faizal Ramadhani.
He also added that further evacuation efforts would continue the following day due to worsening weather conditions and nightfall.
As a sign of serious commitment to handling the case, the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force has also deployed forensic doctors from Bhayangkara Hospital in Jayapura to Dekai Regional Hospital to assist in the professional and prompt identification process.
The Head of Public Relations for the Cartenz Peace Operation 2025, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., emphasized that the pursuit of the perpetrators is ongoing, intensively and in a coordinated manner.
“We are continuing to pursue the group responsible for this brutal attack. We also urge the public to remain calm and not be swayed by unverified information. Trust the security forces who are working at their maximum capacity,” said Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo.
The Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force and the TNI continue to demonstrate their commitment to maintaining security stability in Papua and ensuring the safety of the public.
