Mimika, Papua – Ahead of the holy month of Ramadhan, the Papuan people permeate the call for unity and tolerance conveyed by the community leader of the Dani Tribe, Jhon Murib. In a meeting held in Mimika, Jhon Murib invited all levels of society to maintain security and order, and emphasized the importance of maintaining tolerance between religious communities so that peace in Papua is maintained.

“We must show that Papua is a land full of togetherness and mutual respect. Don’t let differences become a trigger for conflict” said Jhon Murib. He added that the diversity of culture, religion, and customs in Papua is a wealth that must be preserved, not a source of division. According to him, the spirit of unity and tolerance must be the foundation in facing all social dynamics in the region, especially in the blessed month of Ramadhan.

Jhon Murib also invited religious leaders and community leaders to actively play a role in creating a peaceful and harmonious situation. “With the cooperation of all parties, we can create a safe and prosperous Papua” he concluded. This call was warmly welcomed by residents who saw it as a form of real concern for social conditions and security in Papua.

Religious figures and community leaders are considered to have a strategic role in building inter-religious dialogue, so that the potential conflict can be anticipated early on. Discussions and meetings that are routinely held between various elements of society are considered an effective step to ensure that existing differences become a unifying force.

Many residents stated that Jhon Murib’s invitation is a very appropriate message in the midst of social conditions that are often colored by divisive issues. A resident who did not want to be named revealed,

“We really appreciate this initiative. In the midst of existing diversity, maintaining tolerance and mutual respect is the key so that we can live in harmony and peace.”

Community enthusiasm can be seen from the support given to every activity that prioritizes the value of togetherness. They are optimistic that with close cooperation between community leaders, religious leaders, and security personnel, the peaceful atmosphere in Papua will continue to be maintained, especially in times prone to friction.

In the midst of the momentum of Ramadhan, the call to maintain unity and tolerance is becoming more relevant. The Papuan people hope that the messages conveyed do not only stop at the statement level, but are also applied in daily life. With the spirit of togetherness, they want to create a safe, peaceful, and inclusive environment for all citizens.

Concrete steps such as strengthening dialogue between communities and active participation in religious activities are expected to mitigate potential conflicts that may arise. This is in line with the efforts of various parties to create conducive conditions for development and prosperity in Papua.

In a hopeful Ramadan atmosphere, the Papuan people also invite all elements to unite, respect each other, and build a brighter future together. Thus, diversity in Papua is not only a unique identity, but also a strong foundation in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
