Biak Numfor, October 21, 2024- The Head of the Branch Leadership Council (DPC) of the Indonesian Red and White Front (BMP-RI) of Biak Numfor Regency, Frids Sem Arfayan, expressed his high appreciation to the Cartenz-2024 Peaceful Operations Task Force and the Dogiyai Police for their success in arresting the leader of the Paniai armed criminal group (KKB), Jemmy Magai Yogi.
The arrest took place on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, with evidence in the form of 104 rounds of ammunition confiscated from the perpetrator.
Frids Sem Arfayan hopes that KKB Jemmy Magai Yogi, who was involved in the distribution of ammunition from Nabire Regency to Paniai Regency through the jurisdiction of the Dogiyai Police, will be processed fairly and receive a punishment commensurate with his actions while joining the KKB.
“We ask that the perpetrator be processed according to his criminal record, so that the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia in Papua is maintained. This is for the sake of justice and the welfare of the Papuan people, especially in the Nabire and Dogiyai Regencies,” said Frids.
Frids again expressed his appreciation to the Head of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation, Brigadier General Faisal Ramadhani, and the Head of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force, Senior Commissioner Bayu Suseno, who had provided information to the public through the media regarding the arrest of Jemmy Magai Yogi.
“Hopefully with this arrest, other KKB members can come to their senses and return to the bosom of the Republic of Indonesia,” he hoped.
He also appealed to the public to remain calm, not to be provoked, and together to maintain unity within the framework of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika in Papua.
“NKRI is non-negotiable! We are Papua, we are NKRI, free and independent!” said Frids closing his statement.
Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Dr. Bayu Suseno. emphasized that the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation Task Force will continue to enforce the law against the KKB in Papua.
