The Republic of Indonesia’s National Human Rights Commission Papua Representatives Visit the Cartenz Peace Task Force in Timika, Discuss the Killing of Pilot Glen by KKB

Timika– The Indonesian National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) Representatives of Papua held a meeting with the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operations Task Force at the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Command Post. This meeting took place at Mako Yon B Pelopor Mimika, Jalan Agimuga-Karang Senang, Kuala Kencana District, Mimika Regency, Central Papua Province, on Wednesday (14/08/2024).

Chairman of the Indonesian Human Rights Commission, Representative for Papua, Frits B. Ramandey, S.Sos., M.H., after the meeting, when asked for information, expressed his thanks to the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force for being present to provide security guarantees to the Papuan people from disturbances. carried out by KKB.

“We really appreciate the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation in carrying out law enforcement efforts against KKB, who is suspected of being the perpetrator of the murder of Pilot Glen, by upholding human rights,” said Frits.

Frits B Ramandey revealed that Komnas HAM expressed high appreciation for the performance of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operations Task Force. According to him, this Task Force has shown extraordinary dedication and commitment in maintaining peace and security in the Papua region.

“In carrying out its duties, the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operations Task Force has succeeded in overcoming various challenges and facing complex situations with high professionalism. They have worked hard to ensure that the human rights of all citizens are well maintained,” added Frits.

Komnas HAM really appreciates the efforts of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force in protecting people’s rights, including the rights to freedom, security and prosperity. The Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force has played an important role in maintaining order and justice in the Papua region.

“Komnas HAM hopes that the performance of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation Task Force will continue to be improved and become an example for other task forces in safeguarding and protecting human rights throughout Indonesia.

Police Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos, S.I.K., M.H., as Kaops Peace Cartenz-2024, also provided information regarding the security situation in Alama District, Mimika Regency. According to him, the security and public order (kamtibmas) situation in Alama is safe.

“The security and social security situation in Alama is conducive and the community is currently carrying out normal activities as usual. “We hope that all elements of society can continue to collaborate with the Police and TNI in maintaining conducive security,” explained Faizal.

Head of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Public Relations Task Force, Police Commissioner Dr. Bayu Suseno, also expressed his appreciation and thanks to the Indonesian Human Rights Commission for Papua Representatives who had met with the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operations Task Force.

“In its visit, Komnas HAM has provided support to the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operations Task Force in carrying out law enforcement efforts against the KKB Group in Papua. “This is very important for creating a sense of security and peace for all people in the Land of Papua,” said Bayu.

It is hoped that the visit of the Republic of Indonesia’s National Human Rights Commission for Papua will strengthen the synergy between Komnas HAM and the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operations Task Force in efforts to enforce law and protect human rights in the Papua region.
