Jayapura – On Monday (1/7), marking the 78th Bhayangkara Day, Nerlince Wamuar Rollo, Chairman of the Papua People’s Assembly (MRP), expressed his appreciation for the Indonesian National Police (Polri). He articulated his hopes for the institution following his attendance at the 78th Bhayangkara Day Parade Ceremony held at Mandala Jayapura Stadium, led by Papua Police Chief, Inspector General Pol. Mathius D. Fakhiri, S.I.K.
Nerlince emphasized the crucial role of Polri in protecting, reassuring, and serving the community. He urged Polri to consistently strive for excellence and to enhance their performance year after year.
“As Chairman of the Papua People’s Assembly (MRP), along with the entire community, we fully support all steps and policies of Polri for the betterment of Indonesia and Papua,” Nerlince stated.
He highlighted the successful collaboration between the community and Polri, stressing the need to maintain this partnership with dedication.
“Thus far, the collaboration between the community and Polri has been fruitful. It is imperative that we continue to uphold this with utmost dedication,” he added.
Nerlince also referenced the upcoming 2024 regional elections (pilkada), urging that the motto of Papeda (Papua Full of Peace) be realized during the democratic process.
“Regarding the 2024 regional elections that we will conduct, I also declare that we must prove that the Papeda motto can be realized during the elections,” he emphasized.
He called on the entire community to foster good collaboration and celebrate democracy responsibly as orderly citizens who love Papua.
“Let us foster good collaboration and celebrate this democracy festival responsibly as part of a disciplined community that loves Papua,” Nerlince concluded.
In his closing statement, Nerlince extended his congratulations on the 78th Bhayangkara Day, hoping that Polri will continue to be professional, modern, and trustworthy.
“Happy 78th Bhayangkara Day. There are many public expectations that must be fulfilled as the frontline in law enforcement. May Polri continue to be professional, modern, and trustworthy in the future,” he concluded.
