Victim’s Body Departed to Intan Jaya after Shooting Incident

Jayapura – The Mimika Airport Police Sector played a role in the repatriation process of the deceased at Mozes Kilangin Timika Airport. The body of the late Nelon Sani, one of the victims of an armed criminal group, was transported on Saturday (02/03).

The Director of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police, Commissioner Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kom, conveyed from the report of the Mimika Police Resort that before being sent to Intan Jaya Regency for burial, the body had undergone a series of medical examinations at the Mimika Regency Hospital. The examination results showed that the late victim had gunshot wounds in the left arm that penetrated into the abdomen.

“With deep sadness, the body of the late Nelon Sani was departed to Sugapa Airport, Intan Jaya, Central Papua Province. The repatriation was accompanied by several family members who deeply felt the loss,” said the Director of Public Relations.

The departure of the late Nelon Sani is part of the tragic events in the Intan Jaya region. The police continue their efforts to apprehend and bring justice to the victims of this shooting.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family and the local community mourn the unexpected loss. The body of the late victim was escorted home using the Smart Air PK SNK plane, as a sign of the final respect before the burial in his hometown.
