Young Figures of Mimika Invite to Maintain Papua’s Security Stability Ahead of Easter

Mimika, Papua – Ahead of the Easter celebration which is an important moment for Christians, Mimika’s youth figure who is also the Secretary of the Student Council Communication Forum (FKMD) Mimika Regency, Abd. Rachman Nurcholis or known as Arnold Ronsumbre, reminds the importance of maintaining stability and social security in Papua.

In his statement on Saturday (19/5), Arnold emphasized that a peaceful situation is the main foundation for the development and harmony between community groups in Papua, especially during religious celebrations that are loaded with spiritual values and togetherness.

“This Easter atmosphere is the right time to strengthen the bond of brotherhood. I invite all Papuan people, regardless of background, to unite and join hands in order to create a safe and peaceful Papua,” said Arnold.

More than just a religious reminder, according to him, Easter can also be used as a momentum for collective reflection to not be trapped in acts of violence or provocation that destroys the social order.

Arnold also expressed his appreciation for the role of security forces, especially TNI-Polri in Operation Damai Cartenz, which is considered to have worked maximally to maintain a conducive situation in conflict-prone areas.

“As a Papuan citizen, I would like to thank the security forces, especially Operation Damai Cartenz under the leadership of Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, who continue to be committed to maintaining security and peace in Papua. This is real work that we should support together,” he said.

He hopes that this call is not only a discourse, but can be applied by all layers of Papuan people in daily life, so that Papua truly becomes a blessed, peaceful, and tolerant region.

With the stability of security maintained, Arnold is optimistic that Papua will become a barometer of national peace and harmony.
