Jayawijaya Education Office Urges Students to Study at Home During Easter Break

Wamena – The Jayawijaya Regency Education Office has called on all students in the region to continue studying independently at home during the Easter holiday this week.
The appeal was issued by the Head of the Jayawijaya Education Office, Natalis Mumpu, as part of efforts to ensure the continuity of learning activities despite the holiday period.
“We are asking all teachers to assign study materials or tasks that students can complete at home. The goal is to keep students actively engaged in learning and prevent them from losing their academic momentum,” Natalis said on Thursday (April 17, 2025).
According to the Education Office, the initiative is a strategy to prevent learning loss that often occurs during extended school breaks. Teachers are expected to prepare self-study modules tailored to the students’ level and accessible from home.
Parents are also encouraged to play an active role. The Education Office is urging families to assist their children with learning activities and to help create a supportive home learning environment.
“We hope parents can collaborate with us. Children need guidance, especially when they are not under the supervision of their teachers,” Natalis added.
This policy is part of the Jayawijaya government’s commitment to maintaining educational quality in the central highlands of Papua and ensuring students remain motivated to learn, even outside the classroom.
