Papua Trade Agency Ensures Fuel Measurements at Gas Stations Meet Standards Ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr

Jayapura, Papua – The Papua Trade and Industry Agency has ensured that the fuel measurements at Gas Stations (SPBUs) in Papua comply with the established standards following a surprise inspection (sidak) conducted in three regencies/cities. The inspection was carried out to guarantee that consumers receive the correct amount of fuel, particularly ahead of the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah.

Hartati Iwanggin, Head of the Papua Trade and Industry Agency, stated that the inspection took place at SPBUs in Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, and Keerom Regency. “We measured the fuel amount at the SPBU dispensers. The results showed that everything is still within the tolerance limits,” Hartati explained on Thursday (March 27, 2025).

The inspection was carried out by the Jayapura Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) for Standardization and Calibration Laboratory, aiming to ensure the accuracy of fuel volume dispensed, in accordance with Pertamina’s regulations.

With the inspection results confirming that fuel measurements at SPBUs meet the required standards, the Papua Trade and Industry Agency hopes that the public will feel safe and confident when refueling, especially with the anticipated increase in demand during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday season.

“Through this inspection, we want to ensure that consumers are not shortchanged and receive the fuel they paid for. We also aim to provide peace of mind to the people of Papua, particularly as the Lebaran homecoming season approaches,” Hartati added.
