Maintaining Ties of Brotherhood, Papua Regional Police Chief Conducts 1446 H Ramadan Safari

JAYAPURA – The Papua Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Patrige R. Renwarin, has completed the 1446 Hijri Ramadan Safari with the Muslim community at Baiturrahim Grand Mosque on Wednesday (March 26, 2025).
The event took place at Baiturrahim Grand Mosque, located in Gurabesi Subdistrict, North Jayapura District, Jayapura City, Papua. It was attended by the Deputy Regional Police Chief of Papua, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, key officials of the Papua Regional Police, members of the Bhayangkari Regional Organization, and congregants of Baiturrahim Grand Mosque.
In his speech, the Head of the Mosque Management, Kahar Yelipelle, expressed his gratitude to God Almighty for allowing them to observe fasting and strengthen ties with the Papua Regional Police Chief and his wife. He also emphasized their continuous gratitude for God’s blessings.
“To the Regional Police Chief of Papua and the Deputy Regional Police Chief, first of all, I would like to express my gratitude for your presence at Baiturrahim Grand Mosque. This mosque is a source of pride for us as Muslims in Papua,” he stated.
He also extended his thanks to the Regional Police Chief, the Deputy Regional Police Chief, and other high-ranking officials who attended the event.
“He is a true nationalist who does not differentiate people based on religion, ethnicity, or culture but rather respects and tolerates everyone,” added the Head of the Mosque Management.
In his remarks, Inspector General Patrige R. Renwarin stated that the holy month of Ramadan is a very special moment. Therefore, he and his team came that evening to share kindness with their Muslim brothers and sisters.
“Dear congregants of Baiturrahim Mosque, we, the Indonesian National Police, especially the Papua Regional Police, are not a perfect organization. There may have been times when some of our members unintentionally hurt your feelings, and for that, we ask for your forgiveness,” said the Regional Police Chief.
The event concluded with the distribution of basic food packages by the Papua Regional Police Chief and the Chairwoman of Bhayangkari Papua to the community around Baiturrahim Grand Mosque.
