Police and Military Successfully Evacuate Victims of Armed Group Attack in Anggruk District

Jayapura — A joint operation between the military under Kogabwilhan and the police, part of the Peace Operation Task Force Cartenz-2025 and Papua Regional Police, has successfully evacuated victims from a brutal attack carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Anggruk District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua, on Sunday (March 23).

The evacuation process was successfully carried out despite challenges posed by difficult terrain, which could only be accessed via air transport to Anggruk District, Yahukimo Regency. However, all victims were smoothly evacuated to Jayapura.

In this inhumane attack, ten teachers and health workers were among the victims. One of them, Rosalina Rerek Sogen, lost her life, while four sustained minor injuries and three others were seriously injured. Two other victims were safe and residents of Yahukimo. The victims were educators engaged in providing educational services in the remote areas of Papua.
