A Touch of Kindness in Pegunungan Bintang: Mama Papua Shares Harvest with Damai Cartenz 2025 Task Force

Pegunungan Bintang, March 8, 2025 – In Oksibil District, Pegunungan Bintang Regency, Papua Pegunungan, on Saturday, March 8, 2025, Mama Elliyah, a Papua mother, demonstrated great solidarity by sharing the harvest from her garden with personnel of the Damai Cartenz 2025 Task Force. This act of kindness occurred during the holy month of Ramadan, highlighting the increasingly close relationship between the local community and security forces.
Mama Elliyah, a middle-aged woman, walked to the Damai Cartenz 2025 task force post, carrying a noken (a traditional Papua bag) filled with fresh cassava from her farm. With a warm smile, she offered the cassava to the officers who were on duty. This gesture was her way of showing gratitude for the police officers’ dedication to maintaining security in her area.
“Every day, I see the police officers protecting us with great patience. I wanted to share a little of what we have from our garden as a token of thanks. I hope it can help them, especially during this blessed month,” Mama Elliyah said.
Bripda Abdulrohman Wahyu Saputra, one of the officers who received the gift, expressed his gratitude, saying, “We are deeply touched and feel appreciated by the community. We thank them for their kindness. This is an extraordinary show of solidarity.”
In return for Mama Elliyah’s generosity, the Damai Cartenz 2025 Task Force personnel gave her some essential goods. This gesture served as a symbol of their appreciation for the community’s support.
The Deputy Head of Operations for Damai Cartenz 2025, Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga, praised the event. “This is a clear demonstration that the Papua community and security forces can live side by side in mutual support. The kindness shown by Mama Elliyah reflects the spirit of togetherness that must be preserved in our nation,” he said.
This incident reaffirms the strengthening bond between the security forces and the local community in Pegunungan Bintang. The Damai Cartenz 2025 Task Force continues to prioritize a humanitarian approach in maintaining security while fostering good communication with local residents. Through moments of togetherness like this, the values of mutual cooperation and unity, as enshrined in the third principle of Pancasila—Unity of Indonesia—continue to grow stronger, providing a solid foundation for national cohesion.
