Police Distribute Basic Necessities to Residents in Yalimo as Part of Social Outreach Efforts

Yalimo – Personnel from the Indonesian National Police (Polri) assigned to the Damai Cartenz 2025 Operation Task Force have once again demonstrated their commitment to supporting the local community in Papua. On Friday, March 7, they distributed food packages to residents in Yalimo Regency as part of their efforts to address the socio-economic challenges faced by many in the area.
Kombes Pol Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., the Head of Public Relations for the Damai Cartenz Task Force, explained that the food distribution program is a humanitarian initiative by the police to ease the burden on the local population. “We are here not only to uphold the law but also to provide social support. With this aid, we hope to alleviate some of the difficulties faced by the residents and strengthen the relationship between the community and the police,” said Kombes Yusuf.
During the event, residents received food packages containing rice, instant noodles, and other essential items. Each recipient expressed their gratitude for the assistance provided by the police. Mr. Mathius, one of the recipients, shared his appreciation: “This help means a lot to us, thank you so much to the police for caring for us.”
The event also served as an opportunity for police officers to engage in direct dialogue with the community, listening to their concerns and feedback. This open communication aims to foster a stronger and more harmonious relationship between the police and the local people, contributing to a safer and more peaceful environment in Papua.
The Damai Cartenz 2025 Operation not only focuses on combating armed criminal groups (KKB) but also places significant emphasis on building relationships with the community through social programs that have tangible benefits. Through initiatives like this, the police aim to build greater trust with the public, promoting an atmosphere of safety, peace, and prosperity in Papua.
