A New Friendship in Pegunungan Bintang

The crisp mountain air embraced the Operation Peace Cartenz-2025 post in Oksibil, Pegunungan Bintang Regency. Morning sunlight pierced through the thin mist, illuminating the courtyard where the laughter of local children echoed. Among them, Bripda Wahyu sat cross-legged on the ground, his broad smile evident as a small child tightly held his hand.
“Come on, teach me how to make a paper airplane,” Wahyu said warmly. The child eagerly nodded, pulling out a piece of paper from his pocket and swiftly folding it with precision.
Since the arrival of the Peace Cartenz-2025 Task Force, the atmosphere in Pegunungan Bintang has gradually shifted. Where fear once loomed over the community, the sound of children’s laughter now fills the villages. The presence of security officers is no longer seen as intimidating but rather as a source of comfort and unity.
From a distance, Police Commissioner Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., observed the scene with a proud smile. He understood that maintaining security was not just about enforcing order but also about fostering trust and building harmonious relationships with the people.
“We are here not only to ensure security but to be part of their lives. With strong relationships, Papua will become more peaceful, and the community can live with a greater sense of ease,” said Commissioner Adarma Sinaga.
Beyond ensuring stability, the Peace Cartenz-2025 Task Force actively participates in social and educational programs. They believe that a humanitarian approach is the key to achieving lasting peace in Papua.
As the evening approached, Bripda Wahyu remained with the children, now engaged in a conversation about their dreams. “I want to be a doctor,” a little girl shyly admitted. “And I want to be a police officer like you!” another child chimed in enthusiastically.
Wahyu smiled. In a place far from the hustle and bustle of the city, he found a deeper meaning in his duty—being a friend to those who need security and hope.
