Kamoro Tribe Youth Figure: Nutritious Food is the Key to the Growth of a Healthy Papuan Generation

Mimika, Papua – Kamoro Tribe Youth Figure, Mimika Regency, Edison Manikiuta, conveyed his aspirations regarding the nutritious food provision program initiated by the government. According to Edison, this program is greatly needed by the Papuan people, especially those who live in the district, mountains, and coastal areas. He conveyed this on Sunday (02/16/2025).

Edison emphasized that daily food intake plays a crucial role in the growth of children and the quality of life of the Papuan people as a whole. “The quality of food consumed is not adequate and can have a negative impact on the growth of the younger generation and public health in general,” he said.

Furthermore, Edison stated that he asked the regional government of Mimika Regency, Papua, and the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, to immediately realize the nutritious food program. “We ask that this program can be realized immediately and distributed evenly to all Papuan people, especially in remote areas,” he added.

The nutritious food program is considered an important solution to overcome the problem of malnutrition and stunting which is still a serious challenge in Papua. Edison hopes that with this program, the Papuan people can gain access to quality food that supports growth and health.

“We believe that this program will have a positive impact on the future of Papua. A healthy and intelligent generation is the key to the progress of this region,” concluded Edison.

As a youth figure, he is committed to continuing to encourage the government to pay attention to the basic needs of the Papuan people, including in terms of fulfilling nutrition. They are also ready to collaborate with various parties to ensure that this program can be implemented effectively and on target.
