Papuan Religious Figures: Free Nutritious Meals Are an Investment in the Future of Papuan Children

Jayapura – Secretary of the Synod of the Christian Kingmi Indonesian Evangelical Camp Church in Tanah Papua, Reverend DR. Yones Wenda, appealed to all Papuans to support the Free Nutritious Meals program. According to him, this program is very important for Papuan children to improve their nutrition and health in supporting their education at school.
“If our children consume Free Nutritious Meals, the benefits are extraordinary. Their nutrition will be better and they will be healthier to undergo education at school,” said Reverend DR. Yones Wenda, Saturday/2/15/2025.
He also emphasized that this program is very helpful for Papuan families who have economic limitations. With the Free Nutritious Meals, the government is paying special attention to lighten the burden on parents in meeting the nutritional needs of their children.
“We, as Papuan religious figures, strongly support the government’s program related to Free Nutritious Meals. This is a positive step that must continue to be carried out for the future of our children,” he continued.
Regarding the action of rejecting the Free Nutritious Meals program, Reverend DR. Yones Wenda emphasized that the action was not representative of all Papuan people, but was only carried out by certain individuals. He hopes that the government will continue this program for the welfare of the young generation of Papua.
“There are irresponsible parties who want to reject this program, but that is not the voice of all Papuan people. We, as religious figures, hope that the government will continue the Free Nutritious Meals program for the good of our children in Papua,” he said.
