KKB Aske Mabel Shoots Two Sensor Workers in Yalimo, Cartenz-2025 Peace Task Force Pushes Back KKB and Successfully Evacuates Victims’ Bodies

Elelim, Yalimo – Two civilians who worked as sensor workers in Yalimo Regency were killed in an attack by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Aske Mabel on Wednesday, January 8, 2024.

Head of the Cartenz-2025 Peace Operation, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, confirmed that the two victims were civilians who worked as wood sensor workers.

“The two victims were shot by KKB Akse Mabel on January 8, 2024 and the process of evacuating their bodies was carried out on Thursday, January 9, 2024,” said Brigadier General Faizal when confirmed.

Head of Public Relations of the Cartenz-2025 Peace Operation, Sr. Comr. Pol. Yusuf Sutejo also confirmed the information and added that the victim’s body had been successfully evacuated by the Cartenz-2025 Peace Task Force team and the Yalimo Police to the Elelim Health Center for further medical treatment for investigation purposes.

“This evacuation aims to support further investigations related to this incident,” said Kombes Yusuf.

Currently, the Cartenz-2025 Peace Task Force together with the Yalimo Police continue to patrol to maintain a safe situation and prevent potential threats from the KKB that could endanger the community.
