Papuan Figure: Urges the Community to Focus on the Regional Election Results and Also Welcoming Christmas Day
Jayapura – Willem Frans Ansanay, Leader of the Red and White Front of the Republic of Indonesia (BMPRI) in Papua appealed to all Papuan people to maintain a peaceful atmosphere and not respond to issues regarding December 1.
The chairman of the Papua Deliberative Body (Bamus) also assured the public that the election of regional heads in the parent province (Papua) was the start of a better change.
“We are grateful that with the New Autonomous Region, Papua province, which today is the parent province, has been free from demonstration movements, anti-NKRI movements, movements that want to provide space for the struggle for an Independent Papua,” said Ansanay.
Ansanay is optimistic that the results of the 2024 regional elections will produce leaders who will develop Papuan society.
“We do not elect leaders who are still building diplomacy with parties who want to liberate Digi from the Republic
Indonesia,” he stressed.
Therefore, Ansanay appealed to the public to focus on the results of the regional elections and also welcome Christmas and New Year in peace.
