Papua- Chairman of the Puncak Regency Traditional Community Institution (LMA), Podius Alom, hopes that the regional head election (Pilkada) this time can run according to the commitment of all parties so that it runs smoothly and peacefully.
According to him, the land of Papua is often considered an area prone to conflict during regional elections, therefore, he asked all parties to join hands to eliminate this negative stigma.
“Papua is a land of peace, a land of prosperity, let’s prove that without any conflict, let alone conflict resulting from the regional elections,” he stressed.
He asked all elements of society to make the stages of the regional elections a success until his election to leadership positions in the next 5 years.
“This regional election is a momentum to have leaders who can bring about change, so let’s exercise our right to vote according to our conscience,” he said.
Apart from that, Alom asked not to be provoked or suppress propaganda issues regarding each candidate, including Regent, Deputy Regent, Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Governor and Deputy Governor in the Provinces of Papua, Central Papua, Mountain Papua and South Papua.
“Those who run for regional elections are the best Papuan children who want to bring about change. “So let’s make it a success by supporting each of the champions,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Podius Alom emphasized to the people of Puncak to work together to maintain conduciveness during the ongoing regional elections.
“To the people of Puncak who are outside Puncak district, please continue to maintain conduciveness for the comfort of all parties,” he concluded.
