Jayapura- The United Development Party (PPP) asked the government to give high appreciation to the parties who helped relieve Susi Air pilot Captain Philip Mark Mehrtens.
“It is appropriate for the parties involved in this provision effort to receive appreciation from the government,” said Chairman of the PPP DPP Achmad Baidowi.
Awiek said that the Susi Air pilot’s warning had given Indonesia a good image in front of the world by warning of hostages by rebels in Papua.
“The result of this disruption with persuasive steps will raise Indonesia’s image internationally,” he said.
He added that the government must take lessons from the Susi Air pilot hostage case, so that it can guarantee the safety of Indonesian citizens.
“This hostage-taking case must be a reason for the government to guarantee the safety of civilians in Papua from the KKB, and the state must not lose,” he stressed.
