Jayapura- Community figure from the Kopkaka tribe, Seradala, Yahukimo Regency, Yusak Weyo, opposes acts of violence that are often carried out by armed criminal groups.
According to him, the impact of the violent actions carried out by the KKB so far has had an impact on society.
“People are always haunted by fear, because of the threats they often make,” he said.
What is really surprising, according to Yusak, is that the community is afraid of becoming victims if there are officers who collaborate with the KKB.
“If there is a KKB at our place, the authorities will come so that there can be armed contact, then people could become victims like in Intan Jaya some time ago,” he stressed.
He and the Kopkaka tribal community have expressed their stance against the existence of the KKB in their area.
“We agreed to refuse groups from the forest from coming here, because their presence is very disturbing,” he stressed.
Yusak also asked law enforcement officials to act decisively, and that the public would fully support the authorities.
“Please take action, because we have nothing to do with that group,” he explained
At the end of the conversation, he asked the community to join hands to maintain the security and social security situation in Yahukimo, considering that regional head elections will be held soon.
“In a little while the regional elections will be over, let’s maintain peace for the progress of Yahukimo,” he said.
