Threat of Election Boycott Appears in Papua, Red and White Front Expresses Firm Stance
Papua- Rumors are circulating regarding efforts by certain groups to disrupt the implementation of the 2024 elections in Papua. Groups that have been opposing the government have called on the public to boycott the elections in Papua on February 14.
Responding to this, Papuan Traditional Leader, Max Abner Ohee together with the Barisan Merah Putih (BMP) community organization expressed a firm stance.
He appealed to the public to remain calm, while at the same time inviting parties opposed to the government to stop adudomba efforts which have an impact on security stability in Papua.
Max said, as Papuan people who are close to traditional life, every citizen needs to appreciate everything that brings goodness.
Because, changes and conveniences gained from creating a flow of progress will always occur.
It is said that the 2024 election is for Papuans, both old, young and women, who have all involved themselves in running as DPR candidates, whether district, city, provincial or central.
Of course, the democratic party is held for the sake of a better future for Papua in the future.
“If there are groups or parties who refuse to hold elections (boycott elections), they are actually the ones who are fooling the Papuan people and even harming themselves,” said Max
“It’s called a stupid person if they don’t use their right to take part in the election, because by making a choice you are taking part in advancing the Papuan people,” he said.
For this reason, he invited all parties to take advantage of the election moment in Papua to promote mutual prosperity.
