Papua- Mimika Amungsa DPD II Youth Force of the Gospel Camp (AMKI) also took a stand in welcoming the simultaneous General Election (Pemilu) which will be held on February 14 2024.
Secretary of AMKI DPD II Mimika Amungsa, Esau Diwitau, S.Pd said AMKI is ready to support and make the elections a success in order to elect members of the Mimika Regency DPRD, Central Papua DPR, DPR RI and even elect the President and Vice President who will rule in the next five years.
Elections are a political process in which people have the right to determine their choices freely but secretly. From this election, leaders will be elected who are chosen by the people, so losing and winning must be understood by anyone taking part in the contest.
He invited the public to take part in monitoring and making this national agenda a success.
“This is an important agenda so that we can monitor and ensure community participation,” he said.
Esau hopes to maintain unity for a better Mimika. Differences in choice are normal. Mimika, he said, has always lived in various ethnic, religious and racial differences but was still able to live side by side.
However, he also hopes that the public can vote objectively. Because this election is an illustration of the direction of future development.
“This voting will determine the fate of this nation in the next five years, so we have to give according to our conscience, before voting we have to pray so we can choose the best,” he said.
