Jayapura – As an effort to strengthen security in the Papua region, Action Task Force personnel who are members of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation carried out patrols around Kiwirok District, Bintang Mountains Regency, on Thursday (25/01/2024). This patrol was led by Dansector Iptu Muhammad Kasim Lating, S.Tr.K.
Before starting the patrol, Ipda Nikodemus Wospakrik, S.Tr.K as the controlling officer gave directions to the personnel involved. Ipda Nikodemus explained that this patrol was focused on the Kiwirok Sector area, especially the entry and exit routes frequently used by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).
“The enthusiasm of the people of Kiwirok District was very strong, they welcomed the presence of Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops personnel from the Central Sulawesi Mobile Brigade and expressed their gratitude for their efforts in providing a sense of security to all residents of Kiwirok District,” he said.
Head of Operations for Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops, Police Commissioner. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos, S.I.K., M.H., stated that the sambang patrols carried out were an anticipatory step considering the increasing intensity of security disturbances in the Papua region, especially those originating from the KKB group.
“By carrying out this patrol, we continue to move actively to maintain security in Papua and hope to prevent possible incidents that could harm the local community,” explained Commissioner Faizal.
In line with that, the Head of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Public Relations Task Force, AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno emphasized the importance of the presence of the Task Force in maintaining security stability in Papua. In his confirmation, he stated that this operation was an integral part of the government’s efforts to maintain regional integrity and peace, as well as protect the community from threats from armed groups.
“The Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Patrol in the Kiwirok District is not only a manifestation of the presence of security forces, but also a concrete form of the Task Force’s commitment to maintaining security and order in the area. “The government continues to strive to take proactive steps to keep Papua safe and peaceful for its citizens,” explained AKBP Dr. Bayu.
