Jayapuran – Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri stated that he had asked the Intan Jaya Police Chief to investigate the shooting case that occurred in Sugapa, the capital of Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua, Tuesday (23/01).
Previously, the shooting at the Mobile Brigade Post that occurred on Friday (19/1) was followed by the burning of residents’ houses by the KKB, causing one member to die, said Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri in Jayapura.
It was said that the report received revealed that the shooting was carried out from behind the BPD Papua office in Sugapa so it had to be investigated thoroughly.
Ask for information from as many witnesses as possible and the results are processed so that we can find out whether the shooters came from opposing groups who wanted to separate themselves from the Republic of Indonesia or ordinary civil society.
“Intan Jaya Police Chief must be able to manage this well so that it doesn’t get confused with other issues,” explained Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol Fakhiri.
He emphasized that the police chiefs in all Papua Regional Police jurisdictions were asked to maintain conduciveness considering that in a few days the distribution of election logistics would begin.
“Let’s work together to keep the situation conducive so that various development programs can be implemented on time so that people can enjoy them,” said Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Mathius Fakhiri.
