Cartenz Peace Operation Record Throughout 2023: Increase 72 Percent
Timika – Throughout 2023 the law enforcement process carried out by the Cartenz Peace Operation has increased by 98 or an increase of 72 percent.
This figure is much higher than in 2022. Where, in 2022, there will be 41 law enforcement processes.
Head of Cartenz 2023 Peace Operations, Police Commissioner Faizal Ramadhani, said this number included KKB members who were being prosecuted.
In 2022, the number of KKB members who will be prosecuted will be 21 people. Meanwhile, in 2023, the number of KKN members being processed by law will be 33 people or an increase of 175 percent.
The law enforcement process was carried out against 33 KKB people. With a description of 29 people in phase II (handing over suspects and evidence to the prosecutor), namely Uras Telenggen, Annis Taplo, Kopi Tua Heluka, 2 (two) people went to POM TNI AD (Private Melkias Sodegau and Prada Melkias Sodegau), 1 (one ) stage 1 people (Tanggu Pushgi) Law enforcement against KKB resulted in 19 KKB deaths
“The legal process against the KKP was carried out on 7 (seven) suspects, with the description that 2 (two) people were in Phase II (Agus Kosay, Benius Murib) and 5 (five) people were still being investigated (Person Murib, Aris Wenda),” explained Police Commissioner Faizal Ramadhani in a press conference, Wednesday (20/12/2023).
He said that confiscation of firearms had also increased. A total of 31 guns were confiscated (from 1 to 32).
“There was also an increase in confiscated ammunition of 1096 rounds (from 183 rounds of ammunition to 1279 rounds or an increase of 598%),” he explained.
“So in general I can conclude that the overall results of law enforcement in Cartenz Peace Operation 2023 have increased compared to 2022,” he added.
