Timika – Civilians victims of shootings allegedly carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) or the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) in Ilaga District, Puncak Regency on Wednesday, August 23 2023, this morning have been evacuated to Mimika, Thursday (24/8) /2023).
Evacuate the victim named Lukman Ahmad (32) using an aircraft belonging to Reven Global Airtransport type Caravan with flight number PK-RVV.
After arriving at Mozes Kilangin Airport in Timika, the victim was immediately taken using an ambulance belonging to the Mimika Police to the Mimika Hospital to receive further medical treatment.
Puncak Police Chief Kompol I Nyoman Punia explained the chronology of the incident which started around 18.40 WIT when the victim was at his kiosk.
“When the TNI-Polri security forces responded to the gunshots, the victim was found injured and bleeding on his head, but his condition was still conscious. Even though the security forces had carried out a sweep, the perpetrator was not found at the TKP area who may have fled,” explained Kompol I Nyoman Punia.
The process of evacuating the victims of the KKB Puncak shooting went safely and smoothly and then the TNI-Polri security forces carried out Alert 1 at their respective posts.
