Timika – The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) continues to terrorize the people of Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua.
After previously shooting at residents and security forces who were busy celebrating Independence Day, this time it is reported that the KKB shot a resident and set fire to a building in Ilaga District, on Wednesday (23/08) evening.
The victim, known as Lukman, a stall keeper, was shot in the head. Currently his condition is still conscious and has been evacuated to Ilaga Hospital.
“There was a shooting at a local resident named Lukman (kiosk guard) resulting in the victim having a gunshot wound to the head and currently the victim is conscious,” Head of Peace Operations Cartenz 2023 Kombes Faizal Ramadhani told reporters via Whatsaap message.
Faizal explained that the action took place at around 18.40 WIT. At that time, the perpetrator pretended to be a buyer.
When the victim was off guard, the perpetrator suddenly fired a short-barreled gun and hit the victim in the head.
“The perpetrator immediately fled from the location,” explained Faizal.
After shooting at the victim, the perpetrator then set fire to a building located on a side street, Kampung Nipuralorme.
“After the shooting, there was an arson attack on a building on Jalan Pinggir, Kampung Nipuralorme,” said Faizal.
The victim is currently undergoing treatment at the Ilaga Hospital and the joint security forces are on alert to anticipate further action.
