Jayapura – Vice President Ma’ruf Amin will depart for Papua on September 4, 2023. He is also said to have an office there for several days with the aim of accelerating development in this eastern Indonesian region.
As reported by Antara, the Vice President will have an office with the Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security, Minister for Cooperatives, Minister for PUPR, Minister for Investment, and the Commander of the TNI. They also plan to solve a number of problems there.
This was conveyed by Vice Presidential spokesperson Masduki Baidlowi after accompanying the Vice President in a meeting with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy, at the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Friday (18/8).
“The Coordinating Minister for PMK reported several important matters to the Vice President, especially those related to the results of his visit to Papua,” said Masduki.
“Incidentally, the Vice President plans to visit Papua again on September 4 and plans to have an office there with a number of ministers,” he continued.
It is planned that Vice President Ma’ruf Amin will visit a number of locations in Papua. Previously, Ma’uf had also visited Papua and traveled to a number of cities for a week.
During Ma’ruf’s visit at that time, said Masduki, a number of problems in Papua had not been resolved. So that during the visit, Ma’ruf will hold a number of important meetings.
One of the important meeting agendas that will be held later by Ma’ruf is to hear the aspirations of the acting governors and regents.
Meanwhile, Deputy Presidential Secretariat for Governance and Nationalism, Velix Wanggai, said that Ma’ruf and officials there would seek solutions related to welfare and security in Papua.
Ma’ruf Amin is also scheduled to visit Biak regarding sanitation management and preparation for the Cenderawasih Bay Sail.
