Jayapura – The bodies of the three civilians who were shot by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Nduga have been flown to Mimika Regency on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kom, gave a statement about this evacuation process on Friday (18/8/2023).
He explained that Samsul Ahmad’s body was flown at around 10:30 WIT using a Smart Aviation aircraft with the code PK-SNP which was piloted by pilot Capt. Rizky. This evacuation starts from Nduga Regency and ends in Mimika Regency, before the body will be flown to his hometown in Makassar Prov. South Sulawesi.
“Meanwhile, for the bodies of Steven Didiway and Michael Rumaropen, both were flown on the second flight to Mimika Regency which then went to RSUD Timika for the funeral process,” said Benny.
Michael Rumaropen’s body will be flown to his hometown in Biak Numfor Regency. Meanwhile, Steven Didiway’s body will be taken to his hometown in Jayapura Tanah Merah Regency to be buried today, August 18, 2023.
“Both bodies were flown using a Lion Air plane with flight number JT-984,” concluded the Head of Public Relations.
