Members of Mobile Brigade Victims of Shooting Contact with KKB Evacuated to Jayapura
Jayapura – Bharatu Jogianus Ricko, a Brimob member who was a victim of gunfire with an armed criminal group (KKB) in Dekai, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains, was evacuated to Jayapura using a chartered plane. The victim is currently being treated at Bhayangkara Hospital.
The Kabid Dokkes Polda Papua Kombes Dr. Nariyana explained that the victim, who was shot in the left thigh, is currently in a stable condition.
“The victim has been treated by a surgeon to remove the bullet fragments from his thigh, and his condition is stable,” he explained as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 3.
Bharatu Jogianus Ricko who is a member of the Safe Nusa Task Force, was shot in the left thigh, Tuesday (1/8) when joint TNI-Polri officers raided the KKB headquarters.
During the raid, six homemade weapons, eight rounds of ammunition and dozens of traditional weapons, such as arrows and bows, were seized.
The raid on the KKB headquarters began with an attack by KKB on Monday night (1/8) against the Mobile Brigade Post and a shootout occurred. On Tuesday (2/8) an investigation was carried out and an arrest was made of a KKB member with the initials AS, who is a member of Kopi Tua Heluka.
Based on AS’ statement, the security forces knew the KKB headquarters.
During the raid, officers found a number of items of evidence. Currently AS is still being held at the Yahukimo Police Headquarters in Dekai.
