Jayapura – Even though it has entered its 6th month after the burning of a Susi Air plane in Paro District, Kab. Nduga even took hostage the New Zealand national pilot Philip Mark Marthens.
The security apparatus of the TNI-Polri Damai Task Force Cartenz 2023 continues to be committed to freeing Pilot Susi Air from the hands of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Egianus Kogoya who was taken hostage on 7 February, Saturday (29/07/2023).
Head of Damai Operations Cartenz Kombes Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H. said the extreme weather factor and difficult terrain were obstacles to the release of the Susi Air Pilot.
“Currently the obstacles are extreme weather and difficult terrain, so that the TNI-Polri Satgas Damai Carstensz is carrying out evacuation, search, rescue and release of Susi Air airline pilots,” Faizal said when met in Jayapura.
Previously, the search for the Susi Air pilot was carried out to explore as many as 3 (three) areas at once, namely in Yahukimo Regency, Lanny Jaya Regency and Nduga Regency which were allegedly hiding places and nests of the separatist gang.
Until now, the Government is also still trying to negotiate even with various strategies such as approaches using religious leaders, community leaders to local traditional leaders.
