Police investigate the crime scene for the school fire case in Yahukimo District

Jayapura – The Yahukimo District Police (Polres) carried out a crime scene (TKP) case involving the burning of 1 (one) YPK Metanoia Dekai Elementary school building, Yahukimo Regency, Monday (13/03).

Head of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police Kombes Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kom., when confirmed, confirmed the fire.

The Head of Public Relations said that the Yahukimo Police Criminal Investigation Unit is currently trying to find out the cause of the fire by conducting a TKP examination.

“Not only conducting TKP investigations, but from various witness statements we also collected to add to the evidence we got,” said the Head of Public Relations when contacted via WhatsApp, Tuesday (14/03).

He said that from the results found in the field, the evidence secured was in the form of 1 (one) brown chisel, 1 (one) piece of blue cloth that had been burnt, 1 (one) bottle of Aqua brand water filled with oil, 1 (one) ) door latch and 1 (one) log in a burnt state.

“We had experienced problems due to the lack of witnesses who were at the scene, but from the information we have obtained and the samples we have taken from the TKP, we will try our best to uncover the cause of the fire,” he said.

Regarding the circulation of the statement by the spokesperson for TPNPB OPM, according to the Head of Public Relations, it was not true and could not be held accountable. The Yahukimo Police are currently still investigating by collecting information and information related to the cause of the fire.

Previously, on Sunday (12/03) at around 01.45 wit that there had been a fire in the YPK Metanoaia Dekai Elementary school building, Yahukimo Regency.
